The Republic of Macedonia has two airports. "Alexander the Great" is the main aiport which is located around 20 km from the capitol city, municipality Petrovec-Skopje. In 2014, over 1 million of passengers landed/departed at the airport. Weekly, over 150 flights from different Eruropean cities arrive at the airport. Airlines that operate and have flights from and to Skopje are Fly Dubai, Wizz Air, Pegasus Airlines, Adria Airways, Croatia Airways, Austrian Airways, Air Serbia, Turkish Airlines, Helvetic Airlines, Alitalia, Edelweiss Air, Turkish Airlines, Corendon Airlines and Air Berlin.
From the European cities direct flight are available from Rome, Venice, Milan, Zagreb, Belgrade, Ljubljana, Dortmund, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Dusseldorf, Brussels, Sofia,, Malmo, Gothenburg, Stockholm, Oslo, Paris, Eindhoven, Vienna, Zurich, Basel and London. In addition, direct flight to Macedonia are available from Dubai, Istanbul and Izmir.

From the Airport there is a regular bus line that transfers the passengers from and to the city, Skopje. The price for one way ticket is 150 denars, around 2.5 euros. The transfer is serviced by the company, Vardar Ekspres. The Airport is accessed from the highway Skopje-Belgrade-Thessaloniki.
